Principal Seminar

Throughout the years ECEC has build up relations with model schools: schools where the "play way method" is more or less implemented. Those schools can be used for our trainees to carry out practicals and observations.
During last week ECEC organized a seminar for the pricipals of those schools.

Besides meeting each other and discussions about the relation with ECEC, on our program there was a workshop about mentoring.
This subject was conducted by Josien: mentoring, self reflection, giving and recieving of feed back...issues that are not so common  in Nepal.

Principal or not, besides listening practising those skills are included in the programme!

Trainers Meeting

The new one year course in Early Childhood Education entered the second half of its duration.
Rianne Binnenmars, who is heading the Teacher Training Department, is on furlough in the Netherlands, so Josien's involvement is more direct again.
This ECEC dream for years: a longer, accredited course for childhood education is evolving further.
But nothing for nothing: starting a new course with everything it needs is quite a job.

The quality of our teachers has to be high since this cource is unique in Nepal. Our own teacher trainers  attend therefore more classes than they conduct. During this first year of the course we are partially dependent on external experts. We at ECEC are very thankful that up till now we have been able to conduct classes with enough outside experts to develop and teach the classes.
In the Teachers Room all information is collected: the joys and the "childhood diseases". Still lots to improve!
