ECEC conducts parent seminars in order to create awareness in parents about their children's development. We offer to teach on topics like: Ways of learning (through play), Discipline, Emotional development, How to help your child to grow in confidence and other topics that we are requested to speak on. Our programmes are interactive and help parents grow in understanding and raising their children better in a child centered way.

Many schools are asking for our assistance in doing Awareness Programs for Parents particularly to explain play-way method of learning. Principals and teachers often say that parents only want to see homework. They don’t see any value in playing games or playing on the playground with each other. Therefore, there is a big need to experience the value of play by the parents themselves. In our sessions, parents and grandparents can put together a puzzle and thereby gain their own hands-on experience. As you can see from the photo this grandfather’s self–esteem is growing.

We talked about the value of putting puzzles together and came up with the following points:

• It provides an opportunity for the children to use language when they finish the puzzle.

• It helps them develop their fine motor skills.

• It helps them to persevere when it is difficult and they can learn to overcome those feelings.

• It can be an enjoyable experience.  As you can see, grandfather has joy on his face when he finished this puzzle. Enjoyment all over!
